Anne Yeats

Anne Yeats (1919-2001) was an Irish painter and stage designer. She was the daughter of the poet William Butler Yeats and a niece of the painter Jack B. Yeats.

Anne Yeats trained in the Royal Hibernian Academy school from 1933-36 and worked as a stage designer with the Abbey before taking up painting full time in 1941.She styled herself on the expressionists and was interested in representing domestic humanity.

Her work is held in The National Gallery of Ireland, Hugh Lane Municipal Gallery, Ulster Museum, Trinity College, Sligo County Gallery and the Arts Council of Ireland.
