Moyra Barry

Moyra Barry was one of the best known flower painters in Ireland in the 1930s and ‘40s. After studying at the RHA school in Dublin and the Slade in London, she taught painting in England and South America, before returning to the family home in Rathmines, Dublin.

She was a regular exhibitor with the RHA and ranked highly amongst Victor Waddington’s stable of artists, holding solo shows at Waddington’s on average every two years from 1936 to 1952. Her work can be seen in the NGI, the Ulster Museum and the Crawford Gallery .
